Include an introduction

Although it is simple for buyers to find an article on how to download their files on Etsy, they may not know where to look. This can be especially the case if they check out as a guest and don’t have a lot of experience with Etsy.
Technically they can find it out on their own, but why not go above and beyond to make it easy for your customer?

- The file will go to your “Downloads” folder on your computer or phone.

How to Edit a Note to Buyer on Etsy
Another way to send a message to your customer is by using the “Note to Buyer” option when you go to ship out your order. This is a great opportunity to let your buyer know about shipping details and even thank them again!
How to edit before your next order
If you want to be able to access the note to buyer before shipping out an order, you can do this! This is a way you can write out your message, even if you don’t have a current order to send out.
Then you can save this message to use for future orders.
Here’s how you can edit the note:
- Go to Shop Manager and select Orders & Shipping.
- Click completed and select a previously shipped order.
- Select the little truck icon as if you are going to purchase a label. You’ll be able to exit before actually purchasing the label.
- On the right side of the screen next to “Note to buyer” click Edit.
- Add in your message and if it’s something you want to use again, select Save New Snippet.
- Then you can click save and exit out of the shipping label window.
You can also manage snippets and delete any that you may not want to use in the future.
How to edit during a current order
You will do the exact same steps as above by navigating to the shipping label purchase for order. From here you can add a new snippet, or select a saved snipped to use for your message.
How to edit current order using Mark as Shipped
To edit an order that you are not using the shipping label navigation, you will locate the order that you need to mark as shipped. Click the icon that looks like a circle with a check mark inside.
Click this, then choose Complete Order.
At the top of the window you will see the Note to Buyer option where you can add a new message, or choose from a saved snippet.
Then finish filling out shipping details and complete the order!
Etsy Dispatch Message
What should you include in an Etsy dispatch message? Here are a few ideas that you can include.
- Thank them again for their order
- Let me know that their order just shipped
- Tell them which shipping carrier you used
- Encourage them to check tracking
- Remind them to let you know if they have any issues
Including all of this in your dispatch message may mean you get less messages asking, “Did my order ship? Which carrier did it ship with? Where is my package at?”
If you try to remind them of all the details initially, they may be more prepared and ready to answer those questions themselves!
